AExecutive Summary — the Big Picture

Sunday is a two-binary day and neither binary is American. The first is Binance: 90% of the $6.3B stolen on Thursday has been replaced in kind, ten tokens (BTC, ETH, USDT, BNB, SOL, USDC, XRP, USD1, RLUSD, ZEC) are declared 100% backed, 7,499 BTC of SAFU moved on Saturday, and withdrawals are to reopen in phases today after security testing; the proof-of-reserves snapshot was taken at 00:00 UTC Saturday and the zk-proof takes 40–50 hours, so the full report lands Monday. The exchange has answered the solvency question with its own balance sheet. The structural question — whether the largest venue in the asset class can reopen the exit without a run — is answered by the first six hours of Asian trading after the switch is flipped, and it is answered in BNB (~$705, back above the hack lows of $679) and in the Coinbase premium (z-score ≈ −2, the third such discount since 2023) before it is answered in BTC. Bitcoin itself has held: $77,520 at compile, a 24-hour range of $76,338–77,604 that sits exactly on the $75.8k short-term-holder cost basis and below the $81.5k ETF cost basis. Friday's ETF print was the first to carry the hack and it carried it in full — −$643.3M, the largest daily outflow since June, IBIT −$233.7M, FBTC −$201.0M, ARKB −$129.6M — turning a +$440.8M Monday–Thursday into a −$202.4M week and October into a −$515.9M month. The ETH channel has now bled for eleven consecutive sessions (−$1.61B in October, net assets $13.22B from $17.71B). The desk's read is that the marginal US allocator is out, the marginal Asian retail holder is the one who decides today, and the price is being held by a derivatives market that bought 1.63 puts for every call on Friday and has already paid for the downside: a reopening without a run is a short-covering event into $80k max pain for Nov 27.

The second binary is Doha. Iran has not delivered the written reply that was due "by the weekend," but the shape of its answer is now public. Araghchi told Al Jazeera that Qatar proposed cutting the Hormuz-reopening implementation window from five days to two and that Iran has "reached a proposal at this stage" for two days — conditional on sanctions relief back to the June 17 Islamabad baseline, an end to the port blockade, the release of frozen assets including ~$6B in Qatar, a reduction of US forces and recognition of Iran-designated shipping routes. Rezaei, the SNSC chief to whom the Vance letter was addressed, said Washington's "tone has changed completely" and called it "a very positive sign," while declining to reply. Mojtaba Khamenei, after meeting senior commanders, ordered the target list widened and promised an "immediate, impactful, and geographically unrestricted response" to any attack. Rubio, from the G20 in Atlanta, said Trump "has not decided" and set no deadline; Axios says Netanyahu is pressing for joint strikes immediately after Tuesday and regional officials put the earliest date at Wednesday, November 4. Polymarket moved the Hormuz-agreement-by-November-30 contract from 23.5% to 34% in 24 hours, while a US strike by November 15 still prices at 52% and by November 30 at 65.5%. Both tracks are live, both are sequenced after the midterms, and the market is paying for both: Brent at $113–118 is the strike premium, the 10-year at 4.94% is the deal premium.

Cycle and regime. Late-cycle, nominal-growth-led, with the growth engine's capex now priced as a liability and the first synchronised global data crack of the quarter printed on Saturday: China's official manufacturing PMI fell to 49.3 (consensus 50.0; production 49.8, new orders 49.4, small firms 47.5, input prices 56.8) and non-manufacturing to 49.7 — the first month of 2026 in which both are below 50 and the composite (49.7) is contracting. That is the $100+ oil and 1,000-point-lower Nasdaq showing up in the world's second economy before it shows up in US hard data. The US regime is still overheat with a supply shock: real GDP 3.4% (nominal 5.6%), September CPI 3.7% / PCE 3.6% / core PCE 3.1%, PPI 6.3% y/y, Chicago PMI prices-paid at a December-2021 high, ISM manufacturing prices at 77.9, and a Fed whose chair (Warsh, since May 22) held at 3.75–4.00% on Wednesday against two dissents for a hike. The Cleveland Fed's nowcast for October CPI is +0.24% m/m — the first sub-0.3% headline since the summer — and that is the number that decides whether December is a hike (76%) or a pause. The All-Weather quadrant remains Rising Growth / Rising Inflation; the China PMI, the Q3 inventory build (+1.61pp of the 3.4%) and Friday's semiconductor de-rating all push the trend arrow further toward Falling Growth / Rising Inflation.

Beautiful deleveraging — policy adequacy. Monetary policy is coherent and explicit: Musalem wants "additional firming... and soon," Logan wants "at least two more" 25bp hikes and then a pause, Barkin says the direction is clear and "the question though is pace." The market has moved against them (Dec 76% from 84% a week ago) because the equity tape is doing the tightening: 10Y −35bp in October, the largest monthly decline since December 2023, with the belly leading and the 30-year refusing to follow (5.31%, −31bp on the month but holding its term premium into Wednesday's refunding). Fiscal is the incoherent leg and it got worse this week: FY26 closed at a $2.0T deficit (6.1% of GDP) with net interest at $1.1T (19% of revenue), the $87.6B June supplemental is unappropriated and the administration is now reported to be seeking up to $70B in emergency military funds, the CR expires December 11, and the probable 95%/72% Democratic House and Senate arrive Tuesday with a stated intent to litigate the war's funding. Abroad, the ECB held at 2.50% unanimously after debating a hike and announced Lagarde's early exit (February 7, 2027); the BoJ held at 1.25% with a dissent for 1.50% and accelerated ETF sales; the BoE hikes Thursday, the RBA Tuesday, the Riksbank Wednesday. Every G10 central bank except the Fed's own market pricing is tightening into a Chinese contraction. That is the 2008 and 2018 sequencing error and the bond market has started to price it.

Great-power frame. The US–China–Russia triangle is positioned around Doha, not Kyiv. China is named in the reported draft as a guarantor (unconfirmed by either government) and Russia as a second; Russia's satellites (Bars-M, Persona, Lotos-S1, Pion-NKS, Kondor-FKA) were observed over 40 Houthi target sets in Saudi Arabia between July 1 and October 19, Riyadh "discusses regularly" with Moscow and Beijing, and Trump invited Putin to a December Miami leaders' summit at a G20 that could not produce a communiqué. Taiwan mapped 53 PLA/CCG vessels, 34 of them warships, including the Liaoning group east of the Philippines, on October 28–29 — the largest concentration since the April exercises — with Beijing calling it "annual routine." North Korea executed the largest theft in financial history on Thursday and the attacker still holds ~$2.4B of it. The three revisionist powers are each extracting rent from an American war whose end-state is being negotiated by Qatar; a deal that installs Beijing as guarantor of Hormuz is a strategic outcome that no US asset currently prices, and it is the most likely version of a deal.

Key risks vs. opportunities. Risk: Binance reopens to a run, BNB breaks $650, the exploiter's $2.4B starts moving and BTC loses the $75.8k STH cost basis into a Monday that already has Apple after the close and ISM at 10:00 — the crypto-to-equity transmission runs through COIN/MSTR/HOOD (−10% to −12% Friday) and the Nasdaq-100 is already in correction. Risk: Iran's written reply is a "no" on the nuclear file, the Wednesday strike window opens, Brent reopens above $120 and the December hike goes back to 85%. Opportunity: the Hormuz "2-day plan" is the first time Tehran has put its own implementation clock on paper; a yes-with-conditions on Monday is the Goldilocks path — Brent $95, 10Y 4.70%, NDX +5% — and the 34% contract is the cheapest expression of it. Opportunity: SLV took +$247M of creations into a −9% week while managed money sits at a 2.9%-of-OI net long and the PSLV discount is −5% — the physical-silver bid is intact under a futures liquidation, and the December contract still sits at 4.0x registered. What the market is not pricing: a China guarantor clause, a Democratic Senate that raises rather than lowers strike odds, and an October CPI that prints 0.2% and takes the December hike off the table before the Fed's three hawks can land it.

CCross-Asset Analysis — Druckenmiller Lens

Bonds vs. equities

The bond market spent October telling equities that the Fed was going to break something, and on Friday equities agreed. The 10-year fell 35bp in the month — the largest decline since December 2023 — while the Fed's three regional hawks spent Friday morning telling the market that at least two more hikes are coming. A 4.94% 10-year with a 3.88% funds rate and a 76%-priced December hike is a curve pricing one more hike and then a reversal within 2027; the 2-year at 4.56% has already taken 13bp out of that path in a week. The 30-year's refusal to follow (5.31%, −1bp Friday) is the tell: the belly is a growth bid, the long end is a fiscal verdict, and the refunding on Wednesday arrives with FY26 at $2.0T, net interest at $1.1T and a $70B emergency request in the press. The equity market is not disagreeing with bonds anymore — the Nasdaq-100 entered its third correction of the year on the day the 5-year rallied 8bp — it is confirming them from the other side: the capex cycle that carried nominal growth is now being financed with asset-backed debt (Amazon's $80B secured supplier facility, drawable 2027–2028) and guided down by the chip supply chain (Intel's Q4 at $15–16B against $17.1B, "no positive free cash flow in 2027"). The S&P 500 is 2.1% off a record with a forward P/E of 18.7 and Q3 EPS growth of +30.2%; the divergence between the index and its growth engine is the Dow at +1.6% for October versus the NDX at −6.7%.

Risk assets vs. safe havens

There are no safe havens in this tape except the UST belly. Gold fell 3.6% on a day the Nasdaq fell 3.5% and silver fell 6.2% — the same leveraged books own both, and the liquidation is cross-asset. Gold is 13.5% below its 200-day moving average at a one-year low, silver 25% below (the widest since March 2020), and the two are the worst-performing of 21 asset classes year-to-date alongside Bitcoin (BTC −7.3%, gold −7.5% through Oct 23 per Bilello — the first time ever both are at the bottom). That is not a haven failure, it is a positioning failure: the Q3 record ETF quarter (+$31B, +211t) put the marginal Western buyer in at $4,500–5,600 and he is now being redeemed by a rate path that has no cuts in it (Polymarket "0 cuts in 2026" 97%). The haven that is working is the one with a 4.9% coupon. The haven that is quietly working underneath is physical silver: SLV created 3.70M shares (+104t) on a −6% Friday and took +$247M for the week — the largest commodity-ETF inflow of the week — while the Shanghai premium sits at +12.7% and India's October import permit (6,500t) is being used. Oil is the inverse haven: WTI +15.2% and Brent +13.6% in October, the fourth consecutive monthly gain, with the Dec Brent expiry at $117.64 the highest since April.

Liquidity

Global liquidity is contracting on every channel the desk tracks. Fed balance sheet $6.746T (−$8B w/w), reserves $2.895T (−$74B w/w), reserve-management bill purchases halted since August and paused through October; TGA $1.016T is draining the system into a $628B October–December borrowing estimate. The ECB, BoJ, BoE, RBA, Riksbank and Norges are all in tightening or holding-at-peak mode this week; only the PBoC (17th month unchanged) and the CBR (14%, holding) are static, and China's own data say it is now the one that has to ease. Private liquidity: stablecoins −$5.8B over 30 days to $296.6B, the first sustained contraction of the year; US spot BTC ETFs −$515.9M in October; ETH ETFs −$1.61B; DeFi TVL $83.95B, the lowest since August 21; Coinbase Q3 transaction revenue −44% y/y. Binance's withdrawal freeze removed the largest venue's float for ~70 hours. Equity liquidity: Friday's SOX volume and KOSPI sidecar were forced; the Amazon facility is the first hyperscaler to finance AI capex with secured debt — a liquidity-positive for the capex cycle and a credit-negative for its equity.

Dollar

DXY 101.88, −0.15% on a −3.5% Nasdaq day — the dollar did not catch the haven bid, the belly did. That is consistent with a market pricing a Fed that is done after December and an ECB/BoE/BoJ/RBA that are not: EUR 1.1158 with the ECB holding at 2.50% and three national flashes (Italy 5.4%, Spain 4.9%, France 3.8%) that make a December ECB hike live; GBP 1.3392 into a 22-of-25-houses BoE hike; AUD 0.7032 into an RBA hike with trimmed-mean inflation at 3.7%; JPY 157.56 with a BoJ that has one dissent for 1.50% and most analysts expecting it in December. USD/CNY 6.6523 and a 49.3 PMI say the yuan is the funding currency of the next six months. Implications: a flat-to-weaker dollar with $104 WTI is the worst combination for EM importers and the best for US exporters (XOM/CVX at records); for gold it removes the one tailwind it had; for BTC it is neutral until the ETF channel turns; for the 30-year it is the foreign-holder question (TIC: China sliding, India rising) that the K3 dashboard flags amber.

DScenario Matrix — All-Weather Quadrants

Rising Growth + Rising Inflation CURRENT · 40%

Q3 GDP 3.4%, nominal 5.6%, PCE 3.6%, PPI 6.3%, ISM prices 77.9, Brent $113.

Overheat. Commodities and energy equities lead (XOM/CVX records, LMT +27% in October); nominal earnings carry the S&P (+30.2% Q3 EPS growth); long duration is sold (NDX −6.7% in October, 30Y 5.31%); gold fails because real yields rise with the policy rate. Fed hikes in December; curve bear-flattens then bull-steepens as the market prices the end. Trades: long energy, long financials, short long-duration growth, long TIPS breakevens, short gold vs. silver on the industrial bid.

Falling Growth + Rising Inflation TRENDING · 35%

China PMI 49.3/49.7, Sept NFP +29k, Q3 inventories +1.61pp, Intel guide, GDPNow Q4 3.2% initial.

Stagflation. The quadrant Saturday's China data moved the trend arrow toward. Oil holds $100+ on supply while demand data roll; the Fed is forced to choose between a 3.7% CPI and a 4.2%-and-rising unemployment rate; the long end bear-steepens (K3 red); equities de-rate (P/E 18.7 → 16); gold recovers only once the Fed path breaks ($4,200+); BTC behaves as a high-beta Nasdaq proxy and loses the $75.8k STH basis. Trades: long oil vs. short airlines/consumer discretionary, long 2s10s steepeners, long gold calls for Q1'27, short copper on China.

Rising Growth + Falling Inflation GOLDILOCKS · 20%

Requires: Hormuz 2-day plan executes, Brent $95, Oct CPI 0.2% (Cleveland +0.24%), Apple clean.

The deal path. Oil war premium (~$27/bbl per Goldman) collapses, headline CPI prints 0.2–0.3% twice, the December hike is cancelled, the 10Y goes to 4.60–4.70%, the NDX V-bottoms (+5–8%), airlines and transports lead, the dollar weakens, BTC reclaims $85k on ETF re-entry, gold stays heavy (the haven is not needed) and silver outperforms on industrial demand. Trades: long NDX/semis, long airlines, short Brent, receive front-end, long BTC vs. gold.

Falling Growth + Falling Inflation DISINFLATIONARY BUST · 5%

Requires: Binance run + Nasdaq −10% + negative NFP + oil breaking on demand.

The 2008/2020 quadrant. A credit event (the first hyperscaler secured-financing default, a CEX failure) tips a capex-led cycle into contraction; oil falls on demand destruction despite Hormuz; the Fed pivots to cuts inside two meetings; long bonds rally hard (10Y 4.00%); equities −20%; gold initially sold then bid; BTC −30%. Trades: long 10Y/30Y, long VIX, long dollar, long gold after the first leg, short everything cyclical.

Assessment. We are in Rising Growth / Rising Inflation on the hard data and trending toward Falling Growth / Rising Inflation on every leading series: China's dual-contraction PMI, the Q3 inventory build, a chip supply chain guiding down, a Sept NFP of +29k with −60k of revisions, and Chicago prices-paid at a four-year high. The quadrant split (40/35/20/5) is unchanged from Friday in probability but the velocity toward stagflation increased. The two exits are Doha (→ Goldilocks) and Binance (→ bust), and both resolve this week.

Fourth straight monthly oil gain with Goldman's own $27/bbl war premium is the valuation risk — a Doha yes takes $15–20 out of Brent and 10–15% out of the group. KOSPI −3.5% (sidecar) and Nikkei −8.2% in October say Asia's exposure is larger than America's.

Inflection · Crypto equities

COIN −11% · MSTR −12% · HOOD −10%

Coinbase Q3 txn revenue −44% y/y · Strategy 848,517 BTC, avg $75,446

Strategy's average cost ($75,446) is $2,000 below spot and it paused BTC purchases for the first time in months to buy back $205M of STRC preferred — the balance sheet is defending its own capital structure, not accumulating. Coinbase's premium z-score of −2 says US institutional selling, not buying. The Binance reopening is the catalyst: a clean restart is a +10% relief rally in the group; a run is the test of whether the US-listed venues are beneficiaries (flight to regulated) or collateral.

Contrarian — second-level thinking

Silver over gold. First-level: gold −7.2% in October, silver −19%, both liquidated, avoid. Second-level: the sellers were ETF and futures (managed money net long down to 2.9% of OI, the least bullish in 137 reports), the buyers were physical (SLV +146t into a −9% week; Shanghai +12.7%; India's 6,500t permit; Comex registered 104.3M oz against a December contract at 412.7M oz = 4.0x), and the gold/silver ratio at 79 is where silver has outperformed from in every post-liquidation cycle since 2008. The asymmetry is in SLV calls and the PSLV discount (−5%), not in gold.

Long-end Treasuries into the refunding. First-level: $2.0T deficit, $70B emergency request, Democratic Congress, sell the 30-year. Second-level: the 30-year has already priced it (5.31% with a 5.618% October auction), coupon sizes are unchanged "for at least the next several quarters," buybacks of the 10–20y and 20–30y buckets were enlarged in August, and the first negative-growth datapoint (China Saturday, NFP Friday) turns a 5.3% long bond into the only asset with a coupon and convexity. The trade is a 5s30s flattener on the refunding, not a steepener.

China. A 49.3 PMI with the NPC Standing Committee opening Monday and 17 months of unchanged LPR is the setup for the easing nobody owns. HSI +1.46% Friday while every other Asian index fell is the market already sniffing it. Second-level: Chinese gold ETFs at a record 304t and the PBoC's 23rd month of purchases mean that Beijing's easing is a gold bid from the East that offsets the Western ETF seller — the first place the gold bottom shows up is Shanghai, not Comex.

Binance — the reopening

Status at compile: withdrawals still paused; phased reopening "on track" for today after security testing; no confirmation of an actual restart found (GAP — the web-search budget was exhausted; the user should expect the first Asian-hours data to decide the session). What is confirmed: 90% of the $6.3B replaced (ten tokens 100% backed; the remaining 10% is illiquid long-tail tokens being bought OTC), >$6.34B reserved from company funds with $5B already held in affected tokens, 7,499 BTC (~$581M) moved from SAFU on Saturday with a commitment to refill SAFU to ~$1B within 24 hours, a proof-of-reserves snapshot at 00:00 UTC Saturday with a zk-proof due Monday. Frozen: ~$3.0B (Tether >$1.567B, Circle >$800M, Ripple ~$200M RLUSD, Arbitrum Security Council $30.5M, WLFI $29M). The attacker still controls >420k ETH and 18,270 BTC (~$2.4B) and has been circulating thousands of automated transactions; the Binance and September Bitget ($387M) proceeds have commingled at one address via THORChain. Attribution: TRM "high confidence," Chainalysis on-chain, FBI per NBC; the vector was a compromised DevOps laptop plus "additional points of breach" and ~50 pre-signed EIP-7702 delegations that turned a hot wallet into a sweeper. Market-maker exposure disclosed: Wintermute <20% of net equity, GSR <5%. Aave froze and unfroze within 17 hours; all positions overcollateralised. CryptoQuant: Binance net BTC outflow of 22,159 BTC on Thursday was 93% of all exchange net outflow; zero on Friday (frozen). CFTC Chair Selig: the hack "proves our exact point" on a federal registration option for offshore venues; Trump: digital money is "a little bit dangerous."

The desk's decision tree for today. (1) Reopening with BNB holding $680 and net outflows under ~$2B in the first 12 hours → the solvency trade is over; short-covering toward $80k max pain into Nov 6; COIN/MSTR +8–10% Monday. (2) Reopening with BNB <$650 and outflows >$5B → a run in slow motion; BTC tests $75.8k then the $74k put strike where 1,000-BTC blocks sit; Tether/Circle redemptions become the indicator (USDT $179.9B is already −$1B/7d). (3) No reopening today → the market prices a Bybit-2025-plus scenario; BTC $72–74k, ETH $2,000 (the highest-volume Nov 13 put), and the US-listed venues become the beneficiaries within a week.

Regulatory landscape

CLARITY Act: cloture failed 49–50 on September 15; the Senate returns November 9; Kalshi prices passage before January 1, 2027 at 6.5%, before January 1, 2028 at 28%. The hack has reversed the politics in 72 hours: Lummis argues CLARITY would have enabled instant freezes, Waters calls it a "wake-up call" citing Trump-family Binance ties, the Digital Chamber wants a vote "before this Congress adjourns." A 95%-Democratic House changes the bill's authorship, not its probability. CFTC: ANPRM on retail leveraged crypto and a "crypto asset market" DCM subcategory (comments to mid-December). SEC: Regulation Crypto Assets comment period closed October 20, custody rule proposed October 1, tokenised-securities Innovation Exemption effective through September 2031. GENIUS Act: OCC final PPSI rule (October 21; effective January 18, 2027: two-day redemption, ≥5% demand deposits, $5M capital floor); Fed PPSI proposals (comments November 30). OFAC (October 28): 10 individuals and 1 entity in a Russia-based DPRK IT-worker laundering network, 8 ETH/Tron addresses — the first post-Binance OFAC action is the one to watch. EU: ESMA wants non-MiCA stablecoins wound down by ~January 8, 2027; EBA supervises USDC as a significant EMT from November 12. Strategic reserve: the White House is safeguarding ~319–328k BTC with no purchases.

Institutional flows

US spot BTC ETFs: Friday −$643.3M (IBIT −$233.7M, FBTC −$201.0M, ARKB −$129.6M, GBTC −$53.3M, BITB −$25.7M; the other five at zero) — the largest daily outflow since June 25, ending a four-day +$440.8M streak. Week −$202.4M; October −$515.9M (Oct 1–28 +$111.2M, Oct 29–30 −$626.3M); cumulative since launch $57.0B; total net assets $98.14B; IBIT cumulative $66.3B. ETH ETFs: Friday −$155.9M (ETHA −$76.6M), week −$431.5M, October −$1.61B, eleven straight outflow days. Galaxy's Q2 13F work: nine hedge funds (Millennium, Brevan Howard, Goldman, Capula, Farallon, D.E. Shaw, Schonfeld, Symmetry, Tudor) cut a combined 68,000 BTC of ETF exposure between September 2025 and June 2026 while Mubadala (14.7M IBIT) and ADIC (8.2M) held — the basis trade has left and the sovereigns have stayed. Q3 13Fs (Nov 16) will show whether Q3's price recovery brought the funds back before the October exit. Strategy: 848,517 BTC, no purchases in the week to October 26, $205M STRC buyback; Q3 net income $19.1B on fair-value gains. CME futures OI/basis: GAP.

War impact on crypto

Digital gold or Nasdaq proxy? Both, sequentially, and this week it was neither — it was its own event. Since February 28 Bitcoin is ≈ +13% ($68k → $77.5k; +22% from the $63.1k strike-day low) against an S&P 500 ≈ +11% and a gold that round-tripped from $5,600 to $3,876. Over October the ranking was oil +15%, Dow +1.6%, S&P −0.9%, Nasdaq −5.3%, gold −7.2%, BTC −8.4%, silver −19%: BTC traded as the highest-beta version of the Nasdaq and the lowest-beta version of silver. Block Scholes' 90-day correlations (BTC–gold 51%, down from a 55% September peak that was the highest in the dataset; BTC–S&P/Nasdaq ~40%, down from 62% in February) say the gold linkage built during the war is now decaying as both assets are liquidated by the same leveraged books — correlation to gold rose because of a shared seller, not a shared buyer. The escalation pattern since March holds: each escalation day sold off and made a higher low ($66k, $68k, $69.4k, $70.6k in March; $76.4k this week); de-escalation headlines (the "2-day plan," Rezaei's "tone has changed") have produced no bid because the Binance overhang dominates. A strike after November 4 is a −8% event on the February analogue ($63.1k low on the first strike); a deal is a +10% event only once the ETF channel re-enters.

ETF flows through escalation. The war-escalation weeks of September and October saw the ETF channel buy (+$296.8M week to Oct 25; +$440.8M Oct 26–29); the first outflow of size (−$643.3M) came on an endogenous crypto event, not a geopolitical one. That is the cleanest evidence that US allocators are treating BTC as a venue-risk asset, not a geopolitical hedge.

Stablecoins as capital flight. Total $296.6B, below $300B since October 24, −$5.8B over 30 days (USDT −$1.3B, USDC −$4.7B, USD1 −$444.7M / −10.1%). The contraction is Western redemptions, not Gulf flight: Elliptic and Chainalysis measured a +700–873% spike in Nobitex outflows on February 28 but only ~$10.3M actually left Iranian exchanges, and TRM's forensics found the $35M hot-to-cold transfers were internal. The real Iranian rail is the state's: the CBI acquired ≥$507M of USDT, the Senate PSI report (September 28) found 84% of 846 sanctioned wallets used USDT, Tether froze $344M in April and OFAC designated Nobitex, Wallex, Bitpin and Ramzinex (≥$40B of flows) on June 2 — the CBI wallets were still not blacklisted as of September. Treasury's "Operation Economic Outcast" (Friday): Iran has loaded no oil since August 25 and the rial is −25% since August 24. Sanctions evasion is state-scale and dollar-denominated; it runs on USDT, not on BTC.

China/Russia crypto angle. Russia: A7A5 (the ruble stablecoin) crossed $100B cumulative in January but daily volume is now ~$500M against a $1.5B peak, down as much as 96% since the Grinex takedown with 34% of flow circular; the EU ban takes effect November 12; Russia's domestic regulated regime went live September 1 with bank exposure capped at 1% and 20 secondary acts due; Sberbank projects $46B first-year exchange volume. Rosneft USDT oil-settlement pilots: GAP. China: mBridge $55.49B cumulative across 4,047 transactions with e-CNY >95% of settlement (members PBoC, HKMA, BoT, CBUAE, SAMA); newer volumes GAP — the SAMA membership is the number that matters if a Doha deal installs Beijing as guarantor. Iran–China–Russia rails: the DPRK TraderTraitor funds are being laundered through Russia-based IT-worker networks (OFAC October 28) — the same middlemen that service Garantex cash-outs — which is the first on-chain evidence this quarter that the three states share infrastructure. Country adoption: El Salvador 7,807 BTC; governments collectively hold 1,635 fewer BTC in 2026 (Bhutan selling; Kazakhstan and El Salvador adding); Kazakhstan's $500M–1B reserve plan status GAP; Pakistan/UAE/Argentina GAP.

Mining and DeFi under war energy prices. Hash rate ~1,131 EH/s and difficulty ~149T are at records despite $104 WTI: North American miners run on contracted power (~11.5¢/kWh break-even; electricity ~46% of cost) and are pivoting capacity to AI hosting (public miners' BTC output −13–21%), so the energy shock shows up as lower BTC production, not lower hash — the Binance Pool closure (Nov 10) removes a top-5 pool. DeFi TVL $83.95B (−5.3% d/d, lowest since August 21) after the Aave freeze; Tether Q3 profit $1.5B on $132.4B of T-bills — the stablecoin issuers are the clearest beneficiaries of a 4.9% ten-year.

GConviction Views & Trade Ideas

Long 5s30s flattener into the refunding HIGH

Thesis: the long end has priced the fiscal verdict (30Y 5.31%, +58bp over 5s) while the belly has priced the growth doubt; Wednesday's refunding keeps coupons unchanged "for at least the next several quarters" with enlarged long-bucket buybacks, and the first soft data (China PMI 49.3, NFP consensus +55k, Sept +29k) hits the long end hardest because it has the most term premium to give back. Risk/reward: entry +58bp, target +35bp (−23bp), stop +70bp (+12bp) — 2:1. Invalidation: refunding language on coupon increases, a 30Y tail >2bp at the Nov 12 auction, or an October CPI above 0.4% m/m (Cleveland +0.24%).

Long SLV vs. short GLD (ratio trade) HIGH

Thesis: gold/silver 79.3 after a liquidation in which the physical silver bid did not break — SLV +146t/+$247M into a −9% week, Shanghai +12.7%, India's 6,500t permit live, Comex December at 4.0x registered with first notice ~3 weeks away — while gold's marginal holder (Western ETF, Q3 record) is still being redeemed and the Fed is still hiking. Risk/reward: target ratio 68 (silver +16% relative), stop 86 (−8%) — 2:1. Invalidation: a managed-money net short in Friday's COT (Nov 6) that fails to produce a bottom within a week, or a December Comex OI collapse below 60k contracts (the mass-roll signal).

Long NDX call spreads (Dec), financed by short Brent call spreads MEDIUM

Thesis: both legs are the same event. A Doha yes-with-conditions (34% and rising) takes $15–20 out of Brent and puts 5–8% into the NDX from a correction low with semis at −7% in a day; a no leaves the NDX spread worthless but the Brent short expires against a $27 war premium that Goldman expects to compress to $90 by year-end regardless. Risk/reward: NDX 28,400 → 30,000 / Brent Jan $113 → $100. Invalidation: a confirmed hit on Gulf export capacity (Abqaiq, Ras Tanura) — K4's $130+ trigger — or a second semiconductor guide-down (AMD Tue, QCOM/ARM Wed) that de-rates the group independently of oil.

Long BTC vs. short COIN/MSTR basket into the Binance restart MEDIUM

Thesis: the equity wrappers fell 10–12% on Friday against a −2.7% BTC; Coinbase's transaction revenue is −44% y/y and Strategy is buying back its own preferred instead of BTC. A clean reopening lifts BTC toward $80k max pain and the wrappers less than their Friday beta implies; a run hurts the wrappers more (venue risk, custody fear). Risk/reward: 3:1 in a reopening, roughly flat in a run. Invalidation: a no-reopen today — then everything crypto-adjacent is sold and the US venues' "flight to regulated" bid takes a week to arrive. Levels: BTC $75.8k (STH basis) / $74k (put blocks) / $72k below; $78.1k (Oct expiry settle) / $80k (max pain) / $81.5k (ETF basis) above.

Long gold Q1'27 calls (far out-of-the-money) LOW

Thesis: gold has done the work (−31% from record, 13.5% below the 200-DMA, DSI "very bearish", worst October since 2008) and the catalyst that turns it — a Fed forced to pause into 3.7% CPI by a negative NFP, or a strike that puts the Gulf's capacity at risk — is a 25–35% event by the January expiry. Risk/reward: premium at risk only, 5–8x on a $4,500 strike if the Fed path breaks. Invalidation: none needed; it is an option. Do not own the spot: PBoC's +23t a month cannot absorb the Western ETF seller at the current pace (−$1.1B GLD last week).

Short USD/CNY vol / long HSI vs. SHCOMP LOW

Thesis: a 49.3 PMI with the NPC Standing Committee opening Monday and 17 months of unchanged LPR; Hong Kong (+1.46% Friday, the only Asian gainer) is where the easing bid shows first. Risk/reward: 1.5:1. Invalidation: no policy signal by the Nov 6 close.

HRisk Radar

Top 3 tail risks

1 · Binance run

Today

The reopening is phased precisely because a full reopening invites a run. Watch: BNB <$650, Tether/Circle net redemptions >$2B in 24h, a second exchange pausing, the exploiter's 18,270 BTC moving. The transmission to equities is COIN/MSTR/HOOD and then the Nasdaq-100, which is already in correction. Probability of a disorderly reopening: 20%.

2 · Post-midterm strikes + Gulf capacity hit

Nov 4+

Netanyahu pressing for joint strikes immediately after Tuesday; regional officials say "as soon as Nov 4"; Khamenei has widened the target list to "physical and non-physical" assets; Houthis reached Ras Tanura, Abqaiq and Rabigh with Russian satellite targeting. A confirmed hit on Gulf export capacity is Brent $130+, 30Y >5.50%, the stagflation quadrant. Probability within 30 days: 10% (strikes 55–65%, capacity loss conditional ~15%).

3 · Fed hikes into a correcting Nasdaq

Dec 9

Three regional presidents want two more hikes; the market is at 76%; the NDX is −6.7% on the month and China just printed 49.3. A December hike with a negative October NFP (Nov 6) is the 2022 analogue — the policy error the bond market started pricing in October. The off-ramp is an October CPI at 0.2% (Nov 13). Probability of a hike: 60%; of a hike that proves to be the last: 80%.

What changes the base case

Base case (45%): status quo through the midterms, Iran's written reply arrives as a conditional yes on Hormuz and a no on enrichment, a Vance round is scheduled for Doha, the strike window stays open but unexercised through November 15, Brent $105–120, the 10-year 4.85–5.10%, the S&P 7,400–7,750, BTC $74–82k. It flips to Goldilocks on: the 2-day plan executing with a US statement on sanctions sequencing (Polymarket Hormuz-by-Nov-30 >50%), an October CPI ≤0.2% m/m, Apple and AMD clean. It flips to stagflation on: strikes before a reply, a Houthi hit with confirmed barrels offline, a negative NFP with AHE >0.3%, or the China PMI being followed by a Caixin below 49 and no NPC signal.

Black swans on peripheral vision

Taiwan opportunistic strike or quarantine. 53 PLA/CCG vessels (34 warships) mapped October 28–29 including the Liaoning group east of the Philippines; three US carriers and two ARGs will be in CENTCOM by end-November — the largest Pacific-to-CENTCOM transfer since 2003. Beijing's "annual routine" is the same phrase used in 2024. A PLAN incursion while the Roosevelt is in the Arabian Sea is the one scenario in which the dollar rallies and everything else falls.
Russia second front. Ukraine struck the Bashneft refineries and Russia hit the grid on Saturday; Russian satellites are targeting for the Houthis; Trump invited Putin to Miami in December. A Russian decision to escalate in the Baltic or to formally enter the Iran mediation as guarantor are both on the table; the CBR at 14% with 7.1–7.6% inflation says Moscow is funding a war economy, not managing one.
Hyperscaler credit event. Amazon's $80B secured hardware facility and $883B of spending commitments (+36% q/q) is the first asset-backed financing of AI capex at scale. If a second hyperscaler follows and a chip supplier (Intel, "no positive FCF in 2027") needs state support beyond the government's ~10% stake, the capex cycle becomes a credit cycle.
North Korea's $2.4B. The attacker's unfrozen holdings are 0.15% of crypto market cap sitting in a hostile state's wallet; a coordinated dump into a thin reopening is a weapon, not a trade.
Israel's caretaker strike. A hung Knesset (53/48/19) with Herzog's consultations starting Wednesday leaves Netanyahu with full authority to order strikes and no coalition to restrain him until at least November 10. The most dangerous week for a unilateral Israeli action is this one.
Fed-chair credibility. Warsh held 10–2 against two hawkish dissents in his fifth month; Powell remains a governor. A December hike that the market has priced out by then, or a pause that the hawks dissent against publicly, is a credibility event for a chair who inherited an inflation re-acceleration.

IWeek Ahead Calendar

Sun Nov 1	Binance phased withdrawal restart · OPEC+ core-7 (December targets unchanged "in principle"; 2027 baselines) · Sinokor PGSA blanket ban effective · Kuwait live-fire drills begin (to Nov 5) · Iran's written reply to the Qatari/US draft (overdue)	The crypto binary is today. The first Asia session after the switch decides Monday's COIN/MSTR open. An OPEC+ "unchanged" is neutral; any 2027-baseline language is bearish Brent at the margin.

Manipulation-signal read. The Q4'25–Q1'26 pattern (Jane Street ⚠ +~50,000%, Susquehanna +470%, Citadel new) coincided with the run to $121.64; the Q1–Q2 exits coincided with the fall to $54; this week's break of $50 happened with the fast money already out of shares and in options and managed money at a 2.9%-of-OI net long that is still not short. The new datapoint is the divergence: +146t of ETF creations in the week the futures market liquidated to a 2.5-year positioning low and silver fell 9%. That is the signature of a physical buyer (wealth channel, Asia, India's permit) stepping in under a paper seller — the opposite of a market being pushed. The structural flag remains the December contract at 4.0x registered with ~20 days to first notice; Friday's −2,641-contract OI decline is the first evidence of rolling rather than standing. The test is Friday's COT: a managed-money net short would be the first since 2020 and historically the capitulation marker; a net short with continued SLV creations is the bottom.

Institutional read. Friday's −$643.3M was the largest since June 25 and the first row to carry the hack; it reversed a week that had been +$440.8M through Thursday and turned October negative (−$515.9M) after an Oct 1–28 that was +$111.2M. Glassnode's ETF cost basis is $81.5k against $77.5k spot — the ETF cohort is 5% underwater, the first sustained period since April — and the ETF MVRV is 1.4. Galaxy's 13F work shows the hedge-fund basis trade (nine funds, 68,000 BTC of ETF exposure cut between September 2025 and June 2026) had already left before the hack; the holders that remain are sovereigns (Mubadala 14.7M IBIT, ADIC 8.2M — $763.6M, unchanged q/q) and wealth channels. Strategy (848,517 BTC, avg $75,446) made no purchase in the week to October 26 and bought back $205M of STRC — the largest corporate holder is defending its capital structure at a cost basis $2,000 below spot. The Coinbase premium z-score of −2 (third such discount since 2023) says US institutional selling continued on Friday. Q3 13Fs (Nov 16) will show whether the Q3 rally brought the funds back before the October exit; the manipulation flag to watch is any filer that initiated a 500%+ IBIT position in Q3 and is now absent from the Q4 tape.

Incidents: IRGC claims 3 then 4 tankers "mined" on unauthorised routes Fri, a fifth Sat 21:19 in a "prohibited zone" [CL]; UKMTO: vessel struck by an unknown projectile south of Lavan/Shidvar, crew safe; Oman's navy evacuated 25 crew from a burning Panama-flag tanker 1.6nm off Musandam; maritime sources: the first successful limpet-mine strike of the war [C]; UKMTO Warning 190-26 on a fishing-vessel boarding [C]. IRGC claims a US sea drone destroyed — CENTCOM: false, all USVs accounted for, primary routes clear of mines [C]. US advantages

Air/naval superiority is now stated on the record by the theater commander and confirmed by >1.5B bbl of escorted exports and zero Iranian seaborne crude loadings since Aug 25. Three carriers plus two ARGs by end-November would be the largest CENTCOM concentration since 2003. The industrial base is answering: $70B RTX, $52.5B LMT PAC-3, $6.3B SM-3 IB multiyears; GD's $220B backlog; LMT +27% in October. Fiscal capacity is not in question this quarter (nominal GDP 5.6%, 7Y auction covered 2.46x). Washington owns both tracks — the Vance letter that Rezaei now calls "a very positive sign" and the Cooper options executable within 96 hours — and Gulf states are inside the planning. The Saudi defence cooperation agreement was reaffirmed by Rubio on Saturday.

Iranian advantages

Geography and ambiguity: one confirmed limpet strike, one projectile and four-to-five claimed "mined" tankers are enough to keep AIS transits in single digits, cover at 6–10% of hull and Sinokor's fleet at anchor — the IMO cannot guarantee safe transit and CENTCOM's "primary routes clear" does not reopen the strait. Proxy reach with great-power targeting: the Houthis put six Saudi targets under fire in one night with Russian satellite support and cannot be ceasefire'd by Tehran. Timing: Washington's window (post-Nov 3) and Israel's paralysis (53/48/19; Herzog from Wednesday; Knesset Nov 10) are both public — Tehran can run the clock to Wednesday and decide with the US and Israeli results in hand, which is exactly what the overdue written reply is doing. Terms symmetry: Iran's closure of the strait against America's blockade of Iran's ports, now with an Iranian implementation clock (2 days) that reframes the strait as Tehran's to open. Information: a Supreme Leader who communicates by Telegram and a decision loop that still cannot be identified as IRGC-led or collective.

War cost tracker. CENTCOM to Congress: $47.1B as of Oct 16 (munitions >$29B / >60%, operations ~$12B, equipment losses >$6B, SOF ~$645M; excludes base damage) — up from Hegseth's $37.5B July figure and >25% above the Pentagon's own estimate [C]. Run-rate $2–3B/month (CBO Aug 1: >$38B, up to $3B/month) ≈ $6–9B/quarter unbudgeted — below the K3 $50B/quarter red line [C]. The $87.6B June supplemental remains unappropriated; NYT: the administration is now seeking up to $70B in emergency military funds; vote punted to the lame duck alongside the Dec 11 CR expiry [S]. Moody's: ~$2,000 per household [S]. Unbudgeted adds this week: ten cargo sorties into Israel, a Patriot battery in transit, the third CSG and second ARG at sea, Kuwait drills. Q3 GDP: federal spending contributed 0.90pp of the 3.4% — the war is in the growth number. FY26: deficit $2.0T (6.1% of GDP), net interest $1.1T (19% of revenue), debt held by the public $32.4T (~100% of GDP). New CENTCOM/CBO figures this week: GAP.

Gulf War (Aug 1990 – Feb 1991)	−16% Aug–Oct 1990 on the oil spike; +20% from the Jan 17 air-campaign start to the ceasefire	−19.9%	The "sell the build-up, buy the strike" template. Brent doubled then halved.

A post-midterm strike is the 1991/2003 "execution" setup — a drawdown into it, a rally through it — unless Gulf capacity is hit.

Defence tracker. The group's valuation risk is Doha: a Hormuz deal takes the munitions-replenishment urgency, not the backlog, out of the multiple.

1	War spending fiscal blowout (red if unbudgeted > $50B/qtr)	$47.1B cumulative; $2–3B/month run-rate ≈ $6–9B/qtr unbudgeted; $87.6B supplemental unappropriated; NYT: up to $70B emergency request; vote in the lame duck with the Dec 11 CR	AMBER
2	CPI re-acceleration (red if headline >0.4% m/m energy-driven)	Sept CPI +0.6% m/m (energy +5.2%, gasoline +9.1%); PPI +1.3% m/m; Cleveland Oct nowcast +0.24% — easing but the last print was red	RED
3	Term-premium expansion (ACM)	ACM value GAP; proxy: 10Y −35bp and 30Y −31bp in October, 5s30s +58bp — the long end held its premium while the belly rallied; not expanding	GREEN
4	Treasury auction demand (bid-to-cover 10Y/30Y)	10Y 2.77 (Oct 7, 5.300%), 30Y 2.54 (Oct 8, 5.618%), 20Y 2.73, 7Y 2.46, 5Y 2.33, 2Y 2.59 — covered, no tails reported; next 10Y Nov 10, 30Y Nov 12	GREEN
5	Foreign-holder selling (TIC Japan/China)	August TIC (Oct 16): China's holdings sliding, India's climbing; Japan level GAP; September TIC Nov 18	AMBER
6	Fed rhetoric shift (amber if tolerating higher inflation)	Musalem "additional firming... soon"; Logan "at least two more"; Barkin "gradual" — the opposite of tolerance; two dissents for a hike at the Oct 28 hold	GREEN
7	Fiscal deficit trajectory (CBO, supplementals)	FY26 deficit $2.0T (6.1% of GDP, +$217B y/y, $140B above CBO); net interest $1.1T (19% of revenue); debt/GDP ~100%; refunding Wed with Oct–Dec borrowing $628B	RED
8	Credit-rating watch	Moody's Aa1 (May 2025), Fitch AA+ stable (Jan 2026), S&P AA+; agencies "bemoan long-running deterioration in fiscal governance" — no new action	GREEN
9	2s10s bear-steepening	+38bp, steepening +7bp on the week — but a bull-steepener (2Y −13bp, 10Y −6bp): the long end is not leading; amber for the direction, not the mechanism	AMBER
10	MOVE index (>120 = red)	~100.2 (from 93.5 Thursday) — rising on the equity shock, below threshold	GREEN

SUMMARY: AMBER — 2 red (CPI last print, fiscal trajectory) + 3 amber (war supplemental, foreign holders, curve) + 5 green. Unchanged from Friday. The October yield decline was a growth and haven bid, not a fiscal repricing; the refunding on Wednesday and the 30Y auction on Nov 12 are the tests. Upgrade to RED on: coupon-size language at the refunding, an October CPI >0.4% m/m (Nov 13), a 30Y tail >2bp, or a supplemental above $50B passing without offsets.

K4 · Commodity war premium

Brent war premium

$113.43

Jan front · Dec expired $117.64 · Oct +13.6%

Pre-conflict baseline (Feb 27): ~$72 → premium ≈ $41 on the front month; Goldman isolates ~$27/bbl of geopolitical premium and targets $90 end-2026 / $80 avg 2027 with risks "clearly skewed to the upside"; UBS $110 end-2026 (from $100); ANZ $105 (+$10, Oct 30); JPM/MS updates GAP. Hormuz: 13 AIS transits Friday, 7-day avg 7.9 vs 84.8; UKMTO traffic −70%; Sinokor ban from today removes the largest Korean VLCC operator. Supply-disruption duration: the 2-day Iranian reopening plan is the first duration estimate from Tehran; the market's is "post-midterm" (Polymarket Hormuz normal by Nov 30: 6.5%). Iraq: October exports >3.4M bpd (vs 2.65M Sept; 250k via Ceyhan) — back to pre-war levels, losses ~$60B, reserves −$20B, dinar devalued. OPEC+ today: December unchanged "in principle," most Gulf members below quota.

Gold & silver safe-haven status

$3,876 / $48.90

Gold −13.5% vs 200-DMA · Silver −25% · G/S 79.3 · Gold/oil ≈ 34

The haven is failing on the policy rate, not on the war: gold −7.2% in October while Brent +13.6% — a gold/oil ratio collapse from ~78 at the January record to ~34 is the steepest in the series. Silver's industrial/monetary split: physical (SLV +146t/wk, Shanghai +12.7%, India 6,500t permit, Comex Dec 4.0x registered) is bid; paper (MM net +3,321, PSLV −5%) is sold — the monetary leg is liquidating, the industrial leg is accumulating. Central banks: PBoC +23t Sept (23rd month), global official ~63t Sept, Poland 672.9t, CBR −6.2t, Kazakhstan selling. The Street's targets ($4,600–6,000) have not been cut post-Friday — the cut is the bottom signal.

Energy infrastructure damage tracker

GAP bpd

No confirmed Gulf capacity loss this week

Houthi claims (Oct 29) vs Ras Tanura, Rabigh, Abqaiq, KKIA/KFIA, Najran — coalition intercepts, no Aramco damage statement, barrels offline GAP. Iran: Treasury confirms zero crude loadings since Aug 25; acting oil minister Bovard urged "passive defense" of energy sites (Sat) — the sector expects to be targeted. Intel Fab 28 (Israel) shut down (−$300M revenue). UAE: GEM NO.2 tanker spill contained. Tankers: one limpet-mine hit (25 crew evacuated), one projectile hit, 4–5 claimed mine fires — flow damage, not capacity damage. TTF €103.95 (+40.6% Oct, +234% y/y) is the Qatar-LNG channel: no Qatari facility hit, the damage is in transit. Repair timelines: n/a — nothing is confirmed broken on the Arabian side; the Iranian side has been dark since September.

K5 · War impact on Bitcoin & crypto

Escalation vs. de-escalationEscalation days since Feb 28 have sold BTC and produced higher lows ($63.1k → $66k → $68k → $69.4k → $70.6k → $76.4k); de-escalation headlines this week (2-day plan, Rezaei) produced no bid because the Binance overhang dominates. First-strike analogue: −8.5% in a day, recovered in 48 hours, +15% in a week. A post-Nov 4 strike is a −8% / $71k event on that template; a Doha yes is +10% only after the ETF channel re-enters.

CorrelationsBlock Scholes 90-day: BTC–gold 51% (peak 55% mid-Sept, highest in the dataset), BTC–S&P/Nasdaq ~40% (62% in Feb). October ranking: oil +15%, Dow +1.6%, S&P −0.9%, Nasdaq −5.3%, gold −7.2%, BTC −8.4%, silver −19% — BTC traded as high-beta Nasdaq, not as gold. The gold correlation rose because of a shared seller (leveraged books), not a shared haven bid. Since Feb 28: BTC ≈ +13%, S&P ≈ +11%, gold round-tripped. Verdict: risk-on tech proxy with a geopolitical floor.

Sanctions evasionState-scale and USDT-denominated: CBI ≥$507M USDT; 84% of 846 sanctioned wallets used USDT (Senate PSI, Sep 28); Tether froze $344M in April; OFAC designated Nobitex/Wallex/Bitpin/Ramzinex (≥$40B) June 2; CBI wallets still not blacklisted as of September. Russia: A7A5 $100B cumulative but daily volume ~$500M (−96% peak-to-now); EU ban Nov 12. DPRK: the Binance proceeds are being laundered through Russia-based IT-worker networks (OFAC Oct 28) — shared Iran–Russia–DPRK infrastructure.

Stablecoins as capital flightTotal $296.6B (−$5.8B/30d; USDT $179.9B, USDC $71.7B −$4.7B/30d; USD1 −10.1%) — Western redemptions, not Gulf flight. Iranian exchange outflows spiked +700–873% on Feb 28 but only ~$10.3M left; TRM: "no capital flight." Tether Q3 profit $1.5B; T-bills $132.4B. The stablecoin contraction is the liquidity indicator that matters; it predates the hack.

Hash rate & mining~1,131 EH/s 7-day avg; difficulty ~149T (record) after the Oct 29 retarget; hashprice ~$34/PH/day (from ~$40 early Oct); break-even power ~11.5¢/kWh; public miners' BTC output −13–21% as capacity pivots to AI; Binance Pool closes Nov 10. $104 WTI is not reaching contracted North American power; the energy shock shows up as lower production, not lower hash. Direct oil-to-miner quantification: GAP.

DeFi & historyDeFi TVL $83.95B (−5.3% d/d; lowest since Aug 21) after the Aave freeze/unfreeze (17 hours). Analogues: Feb 24, 2022 BTC −12% ($39k→$34.3k), $44k by Mar 1; Oct 7, 2023 dip to $27k, $35k by month-end; Jun 13, 2025 −2.8% in 90 minutes, $428M longs liquidated; Jun 22, 2025 briefly <$99k on US strikes; Feb 28, 2026 −8.5% to $63.1k, $73k by Mar 5. Every geopolitical dip since 2022 has been bought within two weeks; the exception that proves the rule is an endogenous venue failure — FTX 2022, and today's test.

Ceasefire / framework deal within 30 days

30%

[prev 25%] · Polymarket Hormuz agreement by Nov 30: 34% (+10.5pp in 24h)

Up-signals: Araghchi's 2-day Hormuz reopening proposal — the first Iranian implementation clock on paper; Rezaei: US "tone has changed completely," "very positive sign"; Araghchi calls the Vance letter "a positive step"; Iranian deputy FM in Doha, committees formed on the nuclear "second phase"; reported draft elements (HEU to a third country, 7-day reopening, Doha venue, China/Russia guarantors, UN inspectors); Rubio: Trump "prefers to solve it diplomatically," no deadline; Trump: "They want to talk"; Qatar–White House in "frequent contact"; Israel paralysed. Down-signals: no written reply delivered; Araghchi: "no need to meet the Americans at this stage"; conditions include sanctions relief to the June 17 baseline, force reductions and ~$6B of Qatari-held assets — a sequencing gap, not a gap of principle; Khamenei's "geographically unrestricted response"; NPT-withdrawal bill; Hegseth and Rubio skeptical of resumed talks; US wants nuclear concessions first. Watch: the written reply (Mon–Tue), a US statement on sanctions sequencing, a Vance–Rezaei date, the Nov 30 contract through 50%.

US strikes on Iran within 30 days of Nov 3

55%

[prev 55%] · Polymarket strike by Nov 8: 31.5% · Nov 15: 52% · Nov 30: 65.5% · Dec 31: 76.5%

Triggers: Netanyahu pressing for joint strikes immediately after Nov 3 (Axios); Channel 15: IDF preparations complete; three regional officials: possibly Nov 4, "short, intense"; WSJ: Gulf states told to prepare; Cooper options executable in 96h; third CSG and second ARG by Nov 30; Patriot battery in transit; Khamenei's widened target list is the Iranian pre-commitment to retaliation that makes a limited strike unlimited. Restraints: Rubio's "has not decided," no deadline, "prefers diplomacy"; the 2-day plan on the table; a 95%/72% Democratic Congress arriving Wednesday (Musgrave: a Democratic Senate raises unilateral-action odds — the restraint is political cost, not authority); Brent $113–118 into a CPI; Tillis/Massie vs Hegseth; a hung Israel that cannot co-sign. Timing: the earliest reported window is Wednesday Nov 4; the market's median is ~Nov 15.

Major Gulf export-capacity loss within 30 days

15%

[prev 15%] · conditional on strikes ~25%

Houthi salvos reached Ras Tanura, Abqaiq, Rabigh, Riyadh and Dammam in one night with Russian satellite targeting; coalition intercepts held again Friday and Saturday (Riyadh, Eastern, Southern regions). Iran's oil ministry is ordering "passive defense" of its own sites — it expects to be hit and has pre-announced reciprocity against "neighbours' energy infrastructure" (Rubio quoting Tehran). Hormuz mines and limpets are a flow risk; a confirmed hit on Abqaiq, a loaded VLCC inside the Gulf or Ras Laffan is the Brent $130+ / 30Y 5.50% / stagflation trigger.

Diplomatic channels

Qatar is the live channel and it now has two tracks: the Hormuz track (a 2-day reopening against a US sequencing commitment on sanctions, the blockade and assets) and the nuclear "second phase" (HEU transfer or enrichment reduction, inspectors, guarantors) that Tehran's committees are studying. The Vance letter (delivered Oct 25 to Rezaei) proposes direct, Vance-led talks in Doha or Ankara; Rezaei has read it, praised its tone and not replied; Araghchi says no meeting is needed "at this stage." Washington is split in public — Vance, Witkoff and Kushner for talks; Hegseth and Rubio skeptical — and a US delegation is "expected to join" Doha with no date. China and Russia are named as guarantors in the reported draft, unconfirmed by either; Lavrov says Iran wants dialogue and Russia will assist; Pakistan is "cautiously optimistic." The UN Security Council debated Hormuz on Friday without a vote. Israel has no government to co-sign anything before November 10 and a caretaker PM pressing for strikes. The IAEA cannot verify the ~440 kg of HEU. The sequencing problem is the whole problem: Iran reopens in 2 days after relief, Washington relieves after nuclear concessions, and the midterm result on Tuesday decides which side blinks.
